Restore to Factory Defaults


PLEASE NOTE, THIS WILL ERASE ALL DATA ON THE BLACKBERRY. SMS MESSAGES AND PICTURES SAVED ON THE DEVICE WILL BE LOST. THEY DO NOT CARRY OVER FROM AN ENTERPRISE ACTIVATION. IF YOU REQUIRE THIS INFORMATION PLEASE BACKUP YOUR HANDHELD WITH THE BLACKBERRY DESKTOP SOFTWARE.


Contacts, calendar items, e-mails, and memos are all downloaded to the handheld from a BlackBerry Enterprise Activation. You can follow these directions if you need to activate your BlackBerry after wiping it: Activate Your Blackberry

BlackBerry Desktop Software


If you have any photos, music, text messages, BlackBerry Messenger contacts, that you want backed up before wiping your hand held. You will need to use the BlackBerry Desktop Software. The program is self explanatory on how to back-up the device.

You will need the mini-USB cable that came with your phone to connect it to the computer for the BlackBerry Desktop Software to work


Instructions


You can restore your BlackBerry to the default settings, by performing a security wipe on the handheld.

  • Go to Settings / Options
  • Go to Security Options
  • Go to General Settings
  • Hit the menu button (the button to the left of the Track Ball)
  • Choose Wipe Handheld
  • Follow the directions at that point

    Conclusion


The BlackBerry will return to the Initial Setup screen once it is all set. Go ahead through the setup. When it asks for e-mail information, you have the option at the point of activating your BlackBerry with the Enterprise Server.
