Alarm Panel Integration Overview

The automation system CytexOne is installing is capable of 'speaking' with an alarm system. CytexOne will work with client supplied alarm system integrators to pick out equipment that is suitable for the system.

In general, the automation system communicates with the alarm panel via RS-232 (serial) or IP standards. Most alarm panels require an extra piece installed into the system (sometimes called an RS-232 interface, sometimes called an automation module) that adds an RS-232 or RJ45 port to the panel itself. It is the requirement of the client supplied alarm company to provide this piece and program it correctly into the system. CytexOne will connect a wire from that interface module to the larger automation system to provide advanced features such as 'ARM/DISARM/STAY' etc from any touchscreen or remote in the house.
